Below you’ll find an example script about how e-Con CPQ works while configuring a Quote. Of course, this can be an order, proposal, document, item, BOM or other configurable product instead of a quote as well.
How e-Con CPQ lives and works in Dynamics 365
- We can start e-Con within Dynamics 365, as well in an Andriod or iOS app, a portal or a (Sana) webshop as well.
- We want to create a new quote, and the product we want to configure is a configurable product. So we hit the configure button within the Quote area of Dynamics 365. You select the right model and e-Con opens up the right model with questions.
- While configuring e-Con continuously checks Dynamics 365 for real-time data and validate that data with the Rules Engine. The impact of choices will be visible within e-Con, as well as guidance, warnings, and error when making impossible combinations. Other data sources like Salesforce or applications can be reached as well, via standard connection or the API, to ensure a seamless Quote-to-Order process. When you’re done configuring the right product you save the configuration.
- This configures a Quote, Item, BOM, Routing, etc within Dynamics 365 (all editions) or another output like a brochure, PDF or document: all generated by the e-Con Rules Engine.
